Stupid People

I am usually an extremely patient and easygoing person. Unfortunately, my patience with today's generation, especially most of the population of Saint John's, is wearing thin. I am not saying that there aren't nice kids at St. John's... there are many nice people who attend this school, but there are a few that truly sicken me. You might say that is a little extreme to say, but I've had it with immature, materialistic, ungrateful people. This is college. If people actually took the time to look out of the mirror maybe they would realize it's time to grow up. I especially cannot believe the number of people who take what they have for granted. Most students here have a family, a home, clothing, a nice car, so what is there to complain about? It always amazes me when people crash the car that daddy bought them and the next day they arrive to school with a brand new car. How about working for what you own instead of having mommy and daddy pay for everything? This generation also lacks respect for people in general. If someone says "thank you", the appropriate answer is "you're welcome", not "mhmm". If you are in a classroom, don't talk back to the teacher. If a "popular" person makes a joke that isn't funny, you don't have to laugh. The main problem these days is people don't know how to be nice anymore. You're no better than anyone else just because you have an expensive car or wear your hat to the side. You're no better than the person next to you just because you wake up at 5am and take four hours to plaster your face on and curl every strand of hair on your head, just to come to CLASS. Mean people are "popular" or "funny" because there is that element of intimidation. No one wants to go against the "popular" people who come to class. They want to be accepted. What these people have to realize are the "popular" people are usually pieces of trash. They are mean spirited people who get enjoyment out of making other's lives a living hell. They are IN COLLEGE and still take the time out to make fun of someone just because of their physical appearance or because they don't have an aggressive personality. SICKENING. I was actually speaking to someone earlier and they told me they were bored. I responded with read a book and the person writes "yeah okay". Since when did reading become such a horrible thing? I guess people are too cool for reading these days. I'm sure they have better things to do with themselves, such as tune in to "My Super Sweet Sixteen", or go tanning. People need to get out of that high school mentality. People need to grow up. I am aware that this blog was extremely negative which in turn almost swayed my decision to write this, but I've had enough.

I really enjoyed this entry. It was amusing and extremely true. I feel the same way and have felt this way since the first day of school. It is nice to know that someone else sees how immature and naive most people can be.
